What is your motivation for pursuing an M.S. in Business Analytics?

I wanted to expand my analytical acumen while continuing to work full time.

What led you to UVA’s MSBA program?

UVA’s MSBA program was the perfect fit for me. I wanted to pursue a degree in data analytics to learn how to effectively glean strategic business insights from data analysis.

How has the MSBA program complemented your work experience?

There have already been instances where I take what we learn from class and find myself applying it at work the very next day.

What is the most practical concept and/or skill that you have learned so far?

The most practical concept that we have learned so far has to be exploring different data visualizations in Tableau.

What is your favorite and/or the most valuable aspect(s) of the residences?

The most valuable aspect of the residencies is connecting with your classmates in person and taking the time to learn more about them.

How have you been able to integrate the program into your professional responsibilities and personal commitments?

I try to keep proximity, often signing on before I start my 9-5 to do a little bit of reading/coding early in the mornings and then connecting with my learning team when we meet in the evenings.

What are your interests and hobbies?

When I am not preparing for class, I am normally working out, eating, or watching sports.

What is your best piece of advice for prospective students?

Treat this program like you are learning a new language. Practice, practice, practice!
