As a Master of Science in Business Analytics student, you will have access to dedicated career services support that leverages experience from two world-class institutions The Darden School of Business and the McIntire School of Commerce. Whether your goal is to advance in your current role, explore new opportunities, or start your own venture, our dedicated Career Services team is here to support your journey. You will have access to one-on-one professional career coaching, programming to develop lifelong career management skills, access to comprehensive job search tools, connections to the UVA alumni network, and opportunities to connect with top hiring companies.

Individualized Coaching

The M.S. in Business Analytics Program has a dedicated team of career coaches to help advance your career. With a blend of corporate training, coaching certifications, and extensive experience working with young professionals, this team is well equipped to serve individuals with a variety of experience and career goals. All students are given the opportunity to have a career kickoff meeting at the start of the program to share their career goals and get initial input on a career plan and action items. Meetings will be held in person or virtually to best meet your needs and comply with busy schedules. Each career path is highly individualized, and our team will help you be successful in advancing your goals by supporting your advancement.

Career Resources & Programming

Career programming will be offered during the year and cover topics in career management and core job search skills. The Career Services team will deliver classes both in person and virtually, leveraging a hands-on approach to learning. Additionally, Darden and McIntire alumni will join select workshops to enhance learning and provide relevant real-world examples.

Online resources are available to support students with job searches, to advance thinking on various career topics, and/or to help students stay apprised of upcoming activities. The program’s learning management system houses valuable resources and information about career management and job searches. Programming will be available to students, and will focus on current career-related topics.

Employer Engagement

If your goal is to explore opportunities and transition into a new role, our resources and team are equipped to support your search. Our Employer Relations team engages with a wide variety of employers to promote our students and capture job leads. Students will have access to Darden’s job postings board, career fairs, and networking events. Students can also opt in to the class resume book, which is shared with recruiting partners, hiring managers, and alumni.

Professional Network

Relationships matter. As a student in the M.S. in Business Analytics Program, you will get access to the University of Virginia’s vast alumni network. Our Career Services team will help you expand your professional network by building the skills needed to create alliances and relationships and facilitating connections to alumni working in areas of interest. Through career programming, personal introductions, and alumni social events, you will have the opportunity to expand your professional network.
